My name is Wilson. I’m an engineer by trade — someone who’s always loved solving problems, building things, and paying attention to the finer details. After more than a decade stuck behind a desk, I decided to follow my passion and try something a bit different. I’ve always felt most at home outdoors — especially along Ireland’s wild coastlines. There’s something about the weathered beauty of driftwood, shaped by the sea and the elements, that has always caught my eye.

Each piece of driftwood I find tells its own story — smoothed by tides, marked by time, and made entirely unique by nature. When I began collecting it, I realised it deserved a second life — not hidden away, but brought into homes as something both functional and beautiful. That’s how my first lamp was born.

I’ve been crafting driftwood lamps for about a year and a half now, and every one is still different. No two pieces are ever the same — the wood decides the form, and I simply work around what nature has already created.

At Castaway Creations, every lamp is a collaboration between nature and craftsmanship — a one-of-a-kind piece that brings a touch of the Irish coast into your home.
